Decorated in printed paisley paper with a wonderful red bow – I received a gift,
As glee twinkled in my eyes,
I carefully unwrapped it containing my excitement,
Inside was a beautiful marble case,
With a big smile, I opened the case to find – I had received “Chocolateย of Love.”

Happiness shone like the sparkling sun on my face,
Imagined it would be the finest in its taste,
Wondered who sent me after all,
Ignored my thoughts and set to open it now.

I first removed the aluminium foil of harsh words which was thickest covering it had,
Next was the fine butter paper of jealousy and malice,
What was left inside was a tiny red piece of love – dry and deteriorated,
Alas! it was suffocated and lifeless.

Dark poem indeed! Very emotive!
I hope the chocolate of love survives and gives the best taste ever for everlasting love and happiness.
Oh no! I hope that it can flourish now, after removing the thick foil and dark butter paper!
Oh! There is so much anguish in those words. I do hope the love survives and thrives as it is removed from the shackles.
“What was left inside was a tiny red piece of love โ dry and deteriorated,
Alas! it was suffocated and lifeless.”
Wow… beautifully written. I loved this one.
So right. Jealousy and malice wither away and erode all emotions. Very well expressed.
Thanks so much for your kind words ๐
