#Book Review: Harappa: Curse of the Blood River

Advertisements

Harappa and Mohenjo-Daro a part of history which is very fascinating and mystical. The civilisation which got destroyed and left us with a lot of unanswered questions.

Happened to get this book, what attracted me towards it was honestly the name. Its a secret wish to turn back time and see what that period looked like. A piece of fiction, however, I wanted to read the book to know the writer’s imagination of that time. Trust me I wasn’t disappointed.

It’s a story which has its roots in Harappa, Benaras and Rome? Quite a thriller it would keep you on the edge. The writer has connected three dots intermittently in the book so with each chapter there is suspense, mystery and a lot of unanswered questions. The chapter would close on such a note and then the next scene would be a different place. I got irritated with this pattern but it led to my eagerness to read more. That’s the fun, right?

Plot:

Harappa a magnificent city on the banks of river Saraswati so much advanced than we thought off with a great culture. A person revered as the Sun of Harappa, a man worshipped for decades as a devta (half man – half God) destroying his own city?

A city where goodness ruled was plagued by the evil eye of a woman. Heaven on earth suddenly became a centre of bloodshed. A story which no one could think off was hidden from us why?

Cut 2017, a person summoned by his ancestor with a deep secret which lies in his heart. What is so special about this person, just that he is from the lineage of the devta or reincarnation? Why is a hitman after him? What is this dark secret?

Treachery at its best should I say?

Its a mix of history, drama, thriller, mythology and suspense, complete masala for a great book.

What I learnt is  –

🍁🍁 No matter what, good or bad you pay for your deeds. Karma follows you.

🍁🍁 Trust is the quintessence of a relationship, however, not all can be trusted.

🍁🍁 What works for you always is your inner strength nothing before or after it.

🍁🍁 Trust your instincts.

🍁🍁 Knowledge or Vidya will always support you.

🍁🍁 Good, will always supercede evil, it always did and will always do. 🍁🍁

On a lighter note, a good writer can really help you transform back in time. I enjoyed this ride and am looking forward to the Part II, picture abhi baaki hai mere dost!
