My First Experience with Matcha: Is the Hype Real?

A few days ago, I received a gift from a Matcha brand. You can read about it or see others enjoying it, but you only truly understand after trying it yourself. So, I thought it was finally time to unravel the hype around matcha.

Being a total novice, I hesitated several times before opening the packet. I read more about matcha and other related topics before finally taking the plunge.

Well, my first-hand experiment for Brew Matcha – Strawberry was nice. I was anxiously curious about how it would turn out. So, I followed the instructions to the exact “ml.”

This is my first-hand, honest experience, and I am happy to share that it wasn’t a disaster; I enjoyed it.

Organic Japanese Matcha Tea Powder, Natural Flavour (Strawberry), Monk Fruit Powder (Natural Sweetener)

The ingredients were perfect since its organic with no synthetic flavours or preservatives. I give this a 100% rating. Synthetic flavourings don’t give the natural taste, and hidden/added sugars hide all the flaws.

Product Experience: Like 😊 ⬅ or ➡ 🙁  Dislike

I am a chai addict, but not so much of a green tea lover. To give a little more emphasis on this, I can’t experiment much with my tea; it has to be the perfect blend I like. When it comes to green tea, I have tried multiple brands, very few have pleased me, and I am not a regular at it. So, my loyalty has always been towards “Chai Tea,” 😉

The delay in trying Matcha has this background.

It’s been a nice experience. I tried a cold brew with the equipment at home, so the froth wasn’t so much. The first thing was that there was no bitterness, which you feel with green tea. The taste and flavour were really nice.

Yes, there is a strawberry flavour, but it’s natural, not very overpowering. The artificial flavouring always hurts me in the throat immediately. That’s another plus point. The sweetness is also just adequate. Overall, gives a fresh and calm feel after having it.

Well, the shelf life is 12 months, which is decent. It comes in a zip-lock packaging, which makes it easier to store. A packet of 50 gms will make 15 to 20 cups, which is worth the price.

Overall, I give a 9 on 10 for the product for ingredients, taste, flavour, packaging and price; the health benefits are always a “plus.” The 1 less rating is because I am not familiar with other brands and flavours, so there is no comparison.
