These days we are spoilt for choice in every department so footwear cant stay behind, right? We have a footwear option for every situation now.
With so much to offer our Desi footwear is not left behind, it has also undergone a huge transformation in the last few years. I have been exploring some for myself and must say that these ethnic footwear should be must have in your wardrobe.
First on the list is the Punjabi Ladies Jutti, its comfortable, looks great and the variety these days is just superb. You have simple ones to cater to daily wear while, for the special occasions you have options in silk with zardosi, moti, embroidery, stones, lace etc.
The next on the list is Kolhapuri Chappals Ladies. Something which I have to be honest had very limited choice earlier on, but the options available now makes you think I wish I had all.
Punjabi Juttis have a fascinating history right from the Mughal era while the Kolhapuri Chappals have been associated long enough for their sturdiness. These both have been on the likes of many celebrities
What works for both these options is that its comfortable, looks chic and you have a huge collection to chose from. Maintenance is pretty simple you need to keep them in separate shoe bags preferably muslin and you can clean them with damp cloth if necessary. For the leather just apply some mustard oil overnight and the shoe bites would be taken care off.
Now the next obvious question is where to buy the stuff from. Well since I have done a bit of research for myself, I share a website – Jivaana, where you can find Ethnic Women Footwear Online which ships across India and globally, currently has some great discounts going on. Their assortment is amazing and my wish-list is overflowing.
Something Highlights of this Website: has something for everyone and every occasion. There are new additions always. Trendy and latest designs available.
