So its the era of Web Series. A lot of the urban population is subscribing to Amazon Prime, Netflix or Hotstar. TV continues to entertain people however, web series is becoming a popular choice too. Watching your favorite series is trending as the latest way to unwind/recharge your batteries and enjoy some family time.

Today I share a sneak peak about my favorites and my experience. I have binged watch them literally so you can imagine they kept me hooked to my seat literally. There were days when I wanted to watch the next episode but shut the TV at 2 a.m.

Without more waiting lets begin.

๐ŸInside Edge:

My thrust with web series began with this one on #AmazonPrime. One of the first Amazon Prime Originals in India with Indian actors. Finished watching this one in 2 days. I am not a cricket fan but hubby dear is. This one gave a glimpse of the betting racket which goes behind our favorite sport. Must appreciate some fantastic performances by Richa Chaddha, Vivek Oberoi, Tarun Virwani and Angad Bedi.

๐Ÿค“What to watch for: Hard hitting performances which show us the harsh and dark realities of sports world. Nowhere saying this may be the truth- its exciting!

๐Ÿค Blindspot:

Second on the list but my most loved. This is a gripping series wherein a tattooed naked woman is found in a suitcase at Times Square by FBI. Each tattoo is a mystery in itself overall they unfold one of the biggest threat to the country. Each episode lures you into watching the next one. Two Seasons have been completed and I am currently enjoying the third season.

๐Ÿค“What to watch for: The mystery behind the tattoos, the suspense, some great performances, the fabulous team work, inter-relationship between the team and their parallel lives which run along, I can simply go on. The third season has tested my patience on a lighter note with so many breaks in between. ๐Ÿ™„

๐Ÿค–Extant:

There are umpteen number of films and serials made on Artificial intelligence, humanoids, extraterrestrial beings. This one is a combination of all. Molly Woods (Halle Berry) goes on a 13 months solo mission to space and doesn’t come back alone! She is pregnant mysteriously although she has infertility issues. Her husband John, robotic engineer, has developed a android prototype Ethan who is a humanic. Its their journey to discover the sudden changes in their life.

๐Ÿค“What to watch for: If aliens and humanics as a concept is something what you enjoy then this will keep you hooked.

๐Ÿ’ŠDr House M.D.:

This series is about an eccentric, sadist, weird, easily offends anyone, doesn’t show his love easily, still a fantastic doctor no second doubt about it, his diagnosis is the best. Coming from a healthcare background the attraction to the serial was that its related to the field.

๐Ÿค“What to watch for: The fantastic differential diagnosis which the team does but the final nail is always thrown by the man himself. The parallel story of the individual characters. The relation between Dr. House and Dr. Wilson is just amazing. Love both these characters.

โ˜Ž๏ธYeh Unn Dino Ki Baat Hai:

This is not a web series but a TV show on Sony TV. This really caught by attention with the depiction of the 90s, the characters are someone whom you can relate at home. With the backdrop of a love story I enjoy watching this one.

๐Ÿค“What to watch for: Unlike other shows on television this is not a saas bahu drama or extra melodramatic show. Yes considering its a daily it still does not drag so much. Its a love story with some real sweet moments and a backdrop of a lovely family taking you back to the era gone by.

Do share if you liked any of the shows mentioned above or plan to watch. Show some love to this post and do let me know if I should share my favorite shows on a regular basis.

  10. ‘Yeh un dino ki Baat Hai’ is one TV serial that I have started watching for the same reason. It is a treat to go back to your teen years while watching and finding the similarities between you and the characters. That era of no gadgets is cool to watch now. It makes me realise that I have grown up so big.
