Lord of the files..๐Ÿ“’๐Ÿ“‘

It was a pouring left, right and centre. The dark clouds added to the gloom. The feeling of emptiness not only surrounded the house but also within his heart.

Anil was leaving his rented house which he shared for the last four years with his engineering classmates. They were the 3 musketeers or 3 idiots who had their best and worst at their “katta” or this house. The memories like the pouring rain were flowing through their eyes. The packed bags made the house look so much bigger. Anil and his friends Akshay and Ravi were childhood buddies luckily for them they have studied together till their graduation so instead of staying at the hostel they preferred to rent a place.

Ravi said, “Hum toh saath saath hai na, yahan ki yaadein saametke leke ja rahein hain, ache se alvida kehte hain yaaron, katta bura maan jayega warna.”

“Tu theek bol raha hai Ravi, par ek khalipan hai, we never got space to keep our clothes here, there were our books, our kitchen where 4 days in a week we cooked Maggi together, Tujhe yaad hai when you got fever we took care of you right here in this house. Our friendship was strong but staying together at this katta has given a new definition. Bhul gaya our house was the first choice for any party. Exams mein bhi sab yahin aake hamare saath padna chahte the. This house has seen us fighting over our problems, stress of the semesters, the frustrations of living alone without our parents and helped us grow.” Akshay said in his emotional voice which almost relived those years again.

“Chalo its time to say Alvida and make space for another Akshay, Ravi and Anil to make their world in this house. Its time for a new beginning for both of us,” Anil sighed. Suddenly his bag dropped and the files scattered the place.

Silence prevailed and the three friends cried seeing all the photos, results copies, bills etc kept neatly by Anil in his files.

“Yeh saala Anil kabhie nahi sudarega, rula diya isne. Iske yeh adat systematic keda hai yeh. Hamare result ki copies bhi isne apne paas sambhalke rakhe hain. Bas hamare dosti aise he bane rahe,” Ravi said while hugging both of them. ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐ŸŽ“๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐ŸŽ“๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐ŸŽ“

  1. I feel this post is made for me. Katta reminds me of my Fergusson College and we were exactly like that. I keep crying while gleaning at our photo album. Just today, got a whatsapp from bestie who got married in Mumbai and he received my card that I sent him by post. I attached his FY result that I sent him after 11 years. He wondered how come his original stayed with me and I wondered the same while rummaging documents. Dosti toh special hai ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Dosti hamesha he special hote hai. I am also a documentation queen at home and going through old pics and documents always makes me nostalgic. I am glad it touched a chord.
