On the fifth day of Navratri we worship Maa Skand Mata. Skanda is another name for war god Kartikeya and Mata is the term of mother.
Maa Skandamata is the mother or janani of Lord Skanda or Lord Murugan popularly known as Lord Kartikeya. With boon conferring hands Maa blesses everyone with prosperity and happiness.
A mother fulfills her responsibilities for her child. Her love for her child is selfless and cant be measured anytime. A mother stands by her child always.
Yellow is the color for the day.
